1896
Founded by Henry J. Selmer as the H. J. Selmer Company.

1919

The company incorporated and changed its name to The Selmer Co. The new Fort Howard Paper Corporation was built.

1920's

The company moved its headquarters to 128-132 Pearl Street near Green Bay's Broadway district. Alfred F. Fleck and George Agamaite purchased the company from Henry J. Selmer. The Selmer Co. crews build the Northern Bldg. in downtown Green Bay.

1922

Selmer completed the highly acclaimed Rhinelander State Theatre.

1950's

The Selmer Co. entered in the healthcare arena in building Green Bay's tallest structure, the $7 million St. Vincent Hospital in 1957. The company also built Bellin Hospital addition in 1954, the Elks Club in 1959, Bay West Paper Co., Wisconsin Telephone Co., Red Owl Warehouse, Curative Workshop, Cobb's Sunlit Bakery, Leicht Co. Warehousing, and several other prominent structures. Selmer began a relationship with James River (now Georgia Pacific) and has performed civil maintenance and millwright services ever since.

1960's

Selmer began a relationship with the Procter & Gamble Paper Products Company and completed the University of Wisconsin Extension Center in Green Bay (now UW - Green Bay). It was the first building in northeast Wisconsin to use precast concrete for the structural system.

1972

President Alfred G. "Fritz" Fleck and his son Alfred H. Fleck purchased the remaining shares of the company from the Agamaite family. Selmer began erecting high-rise precast concrete buildings across the Chicago, Milwaukee and the Upper Midwest.

1975

Selmer moved to its current headquarters at 2200 Woodale Ave. in the Howard Industrial Park. Landmark projects completed included Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and the Northern Enclosure of Lambeau Field.

1992

The Selmer Co. completed the $18.4 million Weidner Center for the Performing Arts on the UW - Green Bay Bay campus.

1993

The $6 million Oneida Casino was completed in six months by The Selmer Company.

1990's

Projects completed include: Rawhide Boys Ranch Fieldhouse, Neenah High School addition, Hortonville High School addition, Family Doctor's Clinics, Neenah Pool, Cleaning Systems Inc., Two River and Manitowoc Library, Outagamie County Agricultural Services Bldg.

2000's

The company reaches the $50 million mark in completed contracts per year. Notable projects include the Cornerstone Ice Center, Washington Square, Pan-O-Gold Baking Company, Christ the Rock Church, Scheels Sporting Goods, Appleton Alliance Church, Lambeau Field, Pro Shop and Hall of Fame and the Tundra Lodge Resort.

2002

Received the International Masonry Award for the best stone mason project in the Midwest for the Holy Name of Jesus Monastery.

2004
Selmer is the only contractor in Wisconsin its size to receive the 7th consecutive AGC safety award and earns a spot on the list for the top 500 masonry firms in the United States. Specialties include: hotel-waterpark resorts and condos, medical projects, churches, and specialty manufacturing. Notable projects include: Weston YMCA, Holiday Inn Select Indianapolis Waterpark, Winona Foods, Lord’s Dental Studio, Bellin Health-Seymour, Pan-O-Gold-Kaukauna, and Bayside Christian Fellowship addition.
